Don Diablo Returns Home with "Amsterdam" - His Monstercat Debut

Multi-platinum Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo has made his highly anticipated debut on Monstercat with "Amsterdam," marking a significant moment for both the world's #15 DJ and the renowned Canadian label. Released under his CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ alter-ego, the track represents a sonic departure from his usual style, blending cinematic melodies with distorted vocals over drum & bass production infused with grime influences. Coming hot on the heels of his sold-out North American tour that hit major cities including Denver, Montreal, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco, New York City, and Toronto, "Amsterdam" serves as both a creative evolution and a heartfelt tribute to his roots.

The timing of the release couldn't be more poignant, coinciding with Don Diablo's upcoming homecoming performance at Amsterdam's iconic Paradiso venue on September 19. This marks his first return to the city since selling out AFAS Live in 2018, with the artist trading stadium-scale production for a more intimate throwback to his origins. "I've always been a big fan of Monstercat, so releasing my first CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ record with them feels like the perfect match," Don Diablo explains. "This new track is called 'Amsterdam,' it's high energy, emotional, and a heartfelt tribute to the city I grew up in and still deeply love. Honestly, this might be my favorite CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ record so far."

The Monstercat debut continues what's shaping up to be a prolific year for the Dutch futurist, following his standout collaboration with Nelly Furtado and his debut on Australian tastemaker label Sweat It Out. This year also marks the 10-year anniversary of his groundbreaking HEXAGON imprint, cementing his status as one of dance music's most forward-thinking forces. Known for genre-pushing hits like "On My Mind" and "Cutting Shapes," Don Diablo has built an impressive collaborative portfolio with global superstars including Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Madonna, The Chainsmokers, and Coldplay.

With a packed summer schedule featuring festival appearances at Sziget, Untold, and Medusa, plus additional dates in Ibiza and Barcelona, Don Diablo shows no signs of slowing down. The CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ project has become one of his most exciting creative journeys this year, allowing him to explore new sonic territories while maintaining the innovative spirit that has made him a trailblazer in electronic music. "Amsterdam" on Monstercat represents not just a label debut, but a full-circle moment for an artist who continues to push boundaries while honoring his roots.
